Assault by Auto Charges Issued in Hudson County NJ

DWI & Assault by Auto Charges for Secaucus Man
Following an incident that started in Secaucus, which then flowed into North Bergen but ended back in Secaucus, leads to forty-nine (49) year old male being charged with DUI, assault by auto, criminal mischief, driving while suspended and disorderly conduct. It is alleged that the Defendant, a Secaucus resident, slammed his pickup truck into another vehicle and pushed it about 1,000 feet until it smashed into yet another vehicle before he fled the scene the town. In the mist of fleeing, the Defendant also struck two more vehicles and a pedestrian. The Police were able to locate the Defendant back in Secaucus and when they did they observe the Defendant punching random cars and screaming profanities at other drivers. The Defendant was in a very intoxicated state according to the reports.
The Defendant was arrested and formally charged with assault by auto, DUI, driving while suspended as a result of a DUI conviction, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and aggravated assault as well. He is currently being held in the Hudson County Jail in Kearny, New Jersey on a $75,000 bail. 20K in Truck Tires Stolen From Jersey City Warehouse

$20,000 Worth of Truck Tires Stolen From Warehouse in Jersey City NJ
According to the information released thus far, an Ohio based company called Exel Inc. had over $20,000 worth of truck tires stolen from a secured warehouse in Jersey City late Wednesday night. It appears that several trucks owned by this company were being stored overnight in the East Coast Warehouse on Port Jersey Boulevard in Jersey City when several individuals entered the warehouse and stole the truck tires right off the trucks. The suspects were able to enter the warehouse by cutting through the surrounding fences. The surveillance footage shows that once inside the warehouse, the suspects began removing sixteen (16) truck tires from four (4) different tractor trailers. They were able to flee the scene before capture. In fact, the theft wasn’t even discovered until one of the employees entered the yard the next morning an noticed that the trucks were all up on cinderblocks.
At this point in time no arrests have been made. If the suspects were to be caught they would most likely be charged with theft of moveable property, burglary and criminal mischief. All three charges will most likely be considered third degree felonies. Which, if convicted, means that the suspects could be facing up too five (5) years in a State prison on each charge.  […]

Gun Charges Issued in Hudson County NJ
A routine traffic stop by a Port Authority Police Officer on Friday night turns into an upstate New York resident being charged with among other things unlawful possession of a weapon. According to the reports released thus far, the officer pulled over the Defendant, a twenty-four (24) year old male from New York, for a faulty headlight. Upon a further inquire, the officer noticed the Defendant had several shotgun shells located in the center console. Based on his observations, the officer questioned the Defendant on whether or not there was anything else illegal inside the vehicle. It is at that point in time that the Defendant informed the officer that he had a shotgun located in the rear of the vehicle.
Based on their discoveries, the Defendant was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and several traffic violations as well. The Defendant will most likely be charged with unlawful possession of a weapon in the third degree since the weapon in question is a shotgun. If convicted, the Defendant would be facing up too five (5) years in a State prison and a fine up too $35,000. […]

Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute in School Zone Charges in Jersey City
A motor vehicle stop based on a cracked windshield by the Port Authority Police near the Holland Tunnel leads to two Hoboken residents being charged with among other things, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public park. Once the officer’s stopped the Defendant’s vehicle based on a crack windshield they claim they immediately detected the overwhelming smell of raw marijuana emanating from inside the car. When the officers asked for the driver’s license, they discovered that he had a suspended licenses and an active warrant. Based on that information, the driver, a twenty-eight year old Hoboken, New Jersey resident was placed under arrest.
It is unclear of what happened next but a search of the vehicle was conduct. Inside the car the officers discovered 250 grams of marijuana, over 400 clear plastic bags, an electronic scale, and seventeen glass jars used for storing marijuana. As a result of their findings, both the driver and the passenger were charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute in a school zone, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute in a public park and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both men were taken to the Hudson County Jail which is located in Kearny New Jersey. Bail was set at $35,00.  […]

More Theft Charges Issued in Hudson County NJ

Theft & Falsely Pretending to be a Police Officer Charges issued in North Bergen
It appears that a thirty (30) year old Plainfield native was able to convince an individual in North Bergen that he was in fact a police officer and that they needed to turn over the keys to his car. The Defendant is alleged to have approached an individual in North Bergen on May 9, 2015 and told them that he needed the keys to his 2014 Audi A7 immediately for official police use. Once the victim turned over the keys the Defendant left the scene in the victims vehicle. It is unclear at this point in time what the Defendant actually said to the victim to get him to turn over his keys, however, we do know that he did hold himself out as a police officer.
What is also unclear is how the Defendant was finally apprehended. With that being said, he did make his first appearance at the Hudson County Central Judicial Processing Court which is located in Jersey City last week. The Judge arraigned him on his charges, which included, unlawful taking of a means of conveyance, theft of moveable property, falsely presenting himself as a police officer and carrying out an illegal motor vehicle stop. The Judge set bail at $25,000 with a 10% option.  […]

Hoboken Shoplifter Finally Caught

Hoboken NJ ShopRite Finally has Caught Alleged Repeat Shrimp Shoplifter
According to the reports released thus far, the Hoboken Police have finally arrested and charged a repeat shoplifter. The Defendant, a twenty-four (24) Jersey City native, was shoplifting bags of shrimp from a Hoboken ShopRite throughout the last few months. However, on Monday, the Defendant was finally caught in the act and discovered to be in possession of three bags of shrimp, totaling approximately $95. It appears that the ShopRite was aware of the prior two shoplifting incidents which occurred back in March, however, the Defendant was able to leave the store before they could apprehend him.
As a result of what the Hoboken Police determined to be sufficient evidence, the Defendant was also charged with the two prior shoplifting incidents as well. The Defendant was released on three different shoplifting summons and is due back in the Hoboken Municipal Court at a later date to answer the charges. At this point in time it is unclear why the Defendant was shoplifting such large quantities of shrimp. The police will be investigating whether the Defendant was laters selling the stolen merchandize to restaurants in the surrounding areas. […]

Aggravated Assault & Weapons Charges Following Hoboken Fight

Aggravated Assault and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon Charges Issued Following Fight in Hoboken NJ
According to the reports released thus far, a twenty-two year old women has been arrested and charged with among other things, aggravated assault following an altercation outside a Dunkin Donuts in Hoboken, New Jersey. It is unclear what started the altercation but when the Hoboken Police officers responded on scene, they found a twenty-two year old women scuffling with three other women. When the four women were finally separated the police were able to take the statements from the witnesses. Following the investigation, the officer’s were able to determine that the twenty-two year old women was the main aggressor. In fact, it is alleged that she sprayed one of the females with pepper spray, causing her temporary loss of vision in her right eye.
As a result of the incident, the main aggressor was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon (pepper spray) and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. Since all of these charges are felonies, the Defendant will have to make her first appearance at the Hudson County Central Judicial Processing Court in Jersey City this week. During that hearing, the Defendant will formally be arraigned on her charges. In addition, it has also been reported that some of the other individuals involved in the fight were also issued summons for simple assault as well.  […]

Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute Charges Issued in Jersey City NJ

16 1/2 Pounds of Marijuana Found in Jersey City Traffic Stop
According to the reports released thus far, a forty-two year old Pennsylvania native was arrested and charged with among other things, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute in Jersey City this week. It appears that a Port Authority police officer first pulled over the Defendant back on May 15, 2015 but when he went back to his vehicle to run his license, the Defendant took off. For safety reasons, the officer decided to not chase the Defendant through the Holland Tunnel. However, the same Port Authority Police officer noticed the Defendant driving the same vehicle earlier this week. This time the officer was able to pull over the Defendant and take him into custody, not only for driving while suspended but for two outstanding warrants as well. But to make matters worse, it is alleged that once the Defendant was placed inside the cop car, he notified the officers on scene that there was some marijuana located inside his vehicle as well. As a result, a drug detection dog was requested. It is unclear what exactly happened next but a search of the vehicle was conducted.
The search of the vehicle revealed approximately 16 1/2 pounds of marijuana. The Defendant was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute as well as obstruction of the administration of justice and hindering an apprehension following the May 15 incident. The Defendant was taken to the Hudson County Jail which is located in Kearny New Jersey. He currently remains in custody on a $40,000 bail. His first court appearance will be via video conference at the Central Judicial Processing Court in Jersey City.
