Aggravated Assault Charges Following Fight in Hoboken NJ
A forty (40) year old New York man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses following an incident that occurred in 1 Republik in Hoboken, New Jersey on Sunday June 1, 2015. It is unclear at this point in time what or who started the fight but the Defendant is alleged to have thrown a drinking glass at the victim, striking him in the head. The glass apparently shattered upon impact, leaving shards of glass embedded in the victim.  It is also unknown at this point in time what the extent of the injuries the victim suffered are.  This is important as it will dictate what degree of aggravated assault the Defendant will be facing.
The Defendant was arrested and formally charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon. The weapon in this case is the glass that he allegedly through at the victim. He is currently being held in the Hudson County Jail, which is located in Kearny, New Jersey on a $15,000 bail with a 10 % cash option. The Defendant made his first appearance yesterday via-video link at the Hudson County Central Judicial Processing Court.  […]

A $4 Bag of Doritos seems to be the Reason for an Assault in Jersey City NJ

A Bag of Doritos Allegedly Causes a 17 Year-Old Male to Hit a 14 Year-Old Female in Jersey City NJ
According to the reports released thus far, a teenager girl, fourteen, was struck several times by a seventeen year old male over a $4 bag of Doritos tortilla chips. It is alleged that the seventeen year-old male showed up outside the female’s house just before 8am yesterday morning and began harassing her over the $4 she allegedly owed him. The victim attempted to ignore the male and she proceed on her way to school, which apparently infuriated the male even more. The male began tugging on her shirt and then slapped her in the face with an open hand. Unfortunately, it didn’t stop there. When the victim arrived at school, the male again continued to harass her and then he slapped her one more time before he fled the school.
It has been reported that no charges have been filed yet. However, if the victim or the Jersey City Police Department decide to file charges against the seventeen year-old male, he could be facing harassment charges and simple assault charges as well. Since the male is seventeen, his matter would be heard in the family division of the Hudson County Superior Court, which is located in Jersey City. The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office would still be the one’s prosecuting the case if it gets that far.  […]

Credit Card Fraud & Forgery Charges issued in Jersey City NJ

Brooklyn Man Arrested & Charged with Credit Card Fraud in Jersey City
A thirty-three year old Brooklyn resident was arrested and charged with several counts of credit card fraud and forgery following an incident in a Jersey City supermarket this week. According to the reports released thus far, the Defendant, a thirty-three year old Brooklyn resident, attempted to use a credit card while purchasing several items at a ShopRite in Jersey City. Unfortunately for him, the credit card that he attempted to use was suspended. The Defendant then attempted to use three other credit cards, each leading to the same result.
Based on that, the cashier called over the store’s security guard to investigate further. They placed the Defendant in their security office until the Jersey City police arrived. Once they arrived, they quickly determined that the Defendant was in possession of seven credit cards.  The officer’s then attempted to verify the credit cards by calling customer service. They all reported that they have no records of the credit cards existing. The Defendant was arrested and charged with several counts of fraudulent use of a credit card and forgery. The Defendant was taken to the Hudson County Jail which is located in Kearny, New Jersey. He remains there being held on a $10,000 bail. He made his first appearance via video link at the Central Judicial Processing Court, which is located in Jersey City.

Hoboken Bartender has Iphone 6 Stolen Right off the Bar

Lyndhurst Man Arrest for Stealing Hoboken Bartender’s Cellphone off the Bar
On Sunday May 17, 2015, the Hoboken police department responded to the Wicked Wolf Tavern in Hoboken in reports of a missing iphone 6. According to the reports released thus far, a bartender at the Wicked Wolf Tavern had her iphone 6 stolen right off the bar as she was assisting other customers. When the police arrived, the checked the surveillance footage which allegedly clearly showed a patron swiping the iphone off the bar. and placing it into his pocket.  When the police approached the suspect,  he  apparently created some story about how he found the iphone on the ground and that it wasn’t him who swiped it off the bar.
As a result of the surveillance video, the suspect was arrested and charged with theft of moveable property. He was later released on a summons and bail was set at an ROR status. Since the iphone 6 is valued at more then $500, the Defendant was most likely charged with theft of moveable property in the third degree.  A third degree felony in New Jersey is punishable by up to 5 years in a New Jersey State Prison and a fine up to $15,000. The Defendant will most likely have to appear at the Central Judicial Processing Court, also known as CJP in Jersey City this week for his arraignment.  […]

Heroin, Cocaine & Marijuana Being Sold out of Strip Mall in Hoboken NJ
A two month long investigation which originated as a result of various complaints being made about drug dealers conducting business blatantly in front of restaurants and store fronts inside a strip mall in Hoboken finally came to an end Friday.  Based on their investigation, the Hoboken police were able to dismantle what appears to be a very lucrative drug distribution ring in Hoboken. According to the reports released thus far, they have arrested and charged eighteen individuals with various drug related offense, of most significance, distribution of marijuana, distribution heroin and distribution of crack cocaine. The first of the eighteen arrests came on Wednesday, when they arrested a twenty-three year old Clinton Street resident and discovered marijuana, heroin and approximately $30,000 in cash.
In addition, it appears that this wasn’t an operation run by one individual. It was more of an area that became known as a “drug market” wherein which individuals could purchase various types of drugs from various dealers. What makes this situation even stranger was the fact that their appeared to be no competition between the different dealers. Most of the individuals were taken to the Hudson County Jail which is located in Kearny, New Jersey. The bails range any where from $1250,000 cash only to ROR status. Marijuana, Resisting Arrest & Aggravated Assault Charges in Bayonne NJ

Aggravated Assault on Police Officer & Marijuana Charges for Bayonne Man
It is alleged that a Bayonne New Jersey resident shoved a borough police officer and discarded a small amount of marijuana as he attempted to flee on foot. To make matters worse, it has also been reported that once the officers were able to apprehended the Defendant, he continued to resist arrest while they attempted to place the handcuffs on him. It is unclear at this point in time why the officer first approached the Defendant. However, based on the events that unfolded, the Defendant has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana under 50 grams as well as obstructing the administration of justice. In addition, once the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office reviews the charges, they may file third degree eluding charges as well.

Suspect is Finally Arrested & Charged with the Robbery of a North Bergen Teenager in December

Armed Robbery Charges Finally Issued for North Bergen Robbery
A twenty-five year old male from Roselle Park, New Jersey has formally been arrested and charged with  among other things, armed robbery following an incident that dates back to last year. The Defendant is alleged to have robbed a eighteen year old North Bergen resident at gunpoint back on December 12, 2014. The item stolen from the teenager was an Iphone. Apparently, after committing the robbery, the Defendant placed the Iphone on Facebook for sale.
It appears that the North Bergen police were able to use the Hudson County Automated Licenses Plate Reader to help catch the Defendant. The Defendant has formally been charged with robbery in the first degree, unlawful possession of a weapon in the second degree and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in the second degree. If convicted on all charges, the Defendant could decades behind bars. One the first degree armed robbery charge, the Defendant is facing up to twenty years in State prison alone. As if that is not bad enough, armed robbery also falls under the No Early Release Act, which requires Defendant’s to serve at least 85% of their sentence before they can even become eligible for parole.
